Crafted by hand, baked with passion

The founders of Stora Bageriet, or The Large Bakery, aspired to introduce an innovative concept to Stockholm’s bakery landscape. Their goal was to distinguish their novel idea from the city's numerous cozy 'boulangeries'. From the start, NORD ID was determined to highlight the bakery staff's professionalism and attention to detail. The key element in the brand toolbox is the hand, representing Stora’s craftsmanship and adding a human touch to the identity. The striking blue hand is showcased in various ways, from multiple static expressions to animated hands. The brand's playfulness has garnered popularity in the neighborhood, leading the bakery to print posters featuring an assortment of hands in response to their regular customers' requests. The bakery’s interior reflects the dual nature of Stora's ethos – precision in bakery skills and the value of craftsmanship, represented by the hand. The space is thoughtfully divided into two sections to embody these aspects. The bakery area boasts a clean, industrial look with materials like stainless steel and flat white tiles, signifying precision. In contrast, the customer area radiates a raw, handcrafted feel, with handmade ceramic tiles and long benches made from thick, untreated pine beams, representing the touch of the artisan.
